The terminal Episode 2

For regular readers, you may still remember the reason I lost my suitcase in Singapore......
Today I went to watch the movie 'The terminal'! A great movie with sense of humor. Catherine Zeta-Jones taught me not to wait as well.
My friend has finished a course of asiaworks. He highly recommended me to try it. Now I am considering it seriously.
School tomorrow...... but holiday again on Friday! Yeah Yeah!!! :P

Mid-autumn

It's the mid-autumn today. Actually I don't understand why people say 'Happy XXX festival' but I guess there's no harm to say it.
I didn't go to my cousin's wedding banquet tonite. So so so freak out by my relatives' question, 'When is your turn?' Guess they didn't realize this is the rudest question to be asked.
I celebrated my mid-autumn festival quietly by staying home. I haven't done much housework for a period of time, so I picked up the brush and cleaned the bathroom. I am so concentrated in brushing the floor and the tiles. Unexpectedly it gave me a period of peace. New discovery.

Lovely monsters

My job is all about books and people. The book part is boring so I am gonna skip it. The people part is a lot more interesting.
Students are one of the funniest occupations that worth to be studied. They are multi- dimensional:
1. Sleepy during the English lessons, energetic during the recess and PE lessons
2. Able to memorize the name of the school shown on TV (三水漁農業職工會尹兩燦慈善基金尹丁寶瑞紀念中學), mispell the past tense of fly (flew) as (flyed)

And the list goes on and on......

What impressed me most are the creativity and courage. Let me give you some examples:
1. 得閒食個生蕃茄,先生都會變小姐
2. 去廁所唔記得關門,祈禱都唔識得講阿門
3. Miss, I don't want to sit on your legs. I am a man you know...... (a 3 yo kid, no seats on the couch to the school picnic spot)
4. Miss, I have passed my worksheet to the monitress. I didn't know why they passed it back to me (Show great courage in challenging to my intelligence)
That's why I love my job. For I nurture people. Posted by Hello

Glorious moment

There're a few glorious moments in your life which, even a humble you have to give yourself a thumbup. Let me tell you mine:

1. Lost 30 pounds (though gained back some later)
2. updated my blog without much knowledge about HTML language

I must give myself a thumbup for that. I learnt how to make a homepage in June in order to submit my homework. Now I managed to modify the template a little bit, with the help of Dreamweaver for the coding. I would say that that's a great progress.
Glorious moment is all about taking the initiatives and being persistant. I will be motivated by the positive reinforcement! Yes! Yes!

Friends

As Confucius said, there must be a teacher in a group of three (三人行必有我師). You learn a lot from your friends. At the same time, you learn a lot about yourself.
I learnt that
1. There're two types of perfumes, vaporisateur and atomizer
2. Considering your own feeling prior to others doesn't mean you are selfish
3. You do not get your peaceful moment by staying away from others
4. Over 99% of the delicious food is guilty pleasure
5. You won't have time to do anything if you don't try your best to squeeze the time
6. You have to be very detail minded for a long period of time in order to sound 'reliable'
7. Quality means money. You can't get real bargin from the bargain sales
8. Question asking may not be a good way to get to know something
9. Solve the problems before you dig out who should be responsible for the shit

Wondering what kind of effects do I bring to my friends.

It hurts so good

Have you ever had this experience?
You know the endings will be disasterous, yet you still hestitate to take any actions?
Do we hope to exchange time with solutions? Is it a strategy? a fantasy? or a fallacy?
Though it hurts to face the reality, it's the reality. If something doomed to happen, make it quick and sharp. As my friend said, 'Things don't kill you make you strong'. Thanks for the suffereings people had given me, for now I am stronger.

Iris

I had my eyes checked today. One of the tests was to check the iris.
The doctor put the medicine in my eyes to let the iris expand. He could only see my eye clearly when the iris was expanded. I looked like an alien with my iris expanded.
The doctor told me the medicine was invented in ancient Egypt. Ladies put the medicine to make their eyes look prettier.
Will you see the real me with my iris expanded?
Do I see the world clearer when my iris expanded?

Moment

There're some moments in your life which you will be crystal clear suddenly.
Suddenly you realize what you've been doing is totally correct/wrong, then you go on/ change......
Suddenly you realize you can't be like what you were anymore, you must change......
This particular moment can happen at any unexpected time. When you are walking down the road, bathing, eating, watching TV or anything. You know what you have to do and the most impressive stuff is, you actually have the power/strength/ability to achieve your goal.
It's all about changes.
I just had my moment recently. Dear my friend, I hope your moment will arrive soon.

Inner poise

I met an old friend of mine for a drink and tarot reading tonite. The tarot reading was just a piece of joke so I skipped that part. What impressed me most was the chatting. We haven't met for a few years, she has learnt something. Confident? Self respect? I don't know. Now she knew she has to put her feeling into an account. It sounds easy to some people but believe me, it's not.
She broke up with her kind of depressed boyfriend. She told her mom she preferred to live by herself. It may sound cruel but she has put words into action. She considered and counselled her feeling. At least she's happy and she doesn't regret.
Sacrifice doesn't mean Saint. I will put my feeling in a higher rank for my happiness is far more important than others' opinions. For people usually bullshit, why should I get upset with bullshit?
Inner poise will be my recent motto.

Comments 2

Recently I received quite a number of comments. Most of them are about my appearence. The most recent one was received 5 hours ago by my student, 'Miss, how long have you been wearing this pair of glasses? It seems that it has been used for years.' I replied with a big smile on my face, 'I like sth classic, don't you know?'
When I think again, most of the comments are given by male. From 10 years old to 30 sth, both positive and negative, range from my facial features to my body shape. Take the glasses as example, I actually received compliments by wearing it while at the same time, some told me 'Get rid of this pair of glasses!' with their faces twisted. I wondered how come they hate a pair of glasses so much......
Funny enough, none of the comments are about my characters.
Am I too close to the Saint type so people can't pick the flaws about my characters? or people pay no attention to sth deeper than the skin level?
Guess I really have to clear my wardrobe and welcome some new clothes. :P

Little feeling about Singapore

I enjoy the food, the weather (though it's a bit hot in the daytime), the environment and the people. If I wanna take my moment, relax and recharge, sure this will be my first choice. People always put Singapore and Hong Kong together and compare. I can only tell you that I am kind of tired of HK and Singapore has given me a great impression.

Facinating!

We then went to the underwater world. The aquarium was simply amazing! I have taken quite a no. of pictures actually. And even videoes! What's more amazing was my friend could actually name the fish!!!!! That's nice to enjoy the marine life with a well knowledged friend! Bonus! Posted by Hello

Sentosa

My friend was kind enough to take a half day off and took me to Sentosa. Sentosa is an island with amuzement facilities. We took the monorail and chatted. We missed the departing station for twice so we travelled around the island for twice! And missed some good shows. Heehee! Posted by Hello

Bathroom

Nice bathroom! I bathed and took a shower after I had swum in the morning. Nice feeling. Posted by Hello

Nice hotel 2

I then switched to my second hotel, The fullerton. It was the postal office in the early 1920s. The room is spacious and comfortable. I asked them to joint the bed and by the time I went back, it's nice and done! Posted by Hello

Henna

I was so facinated about henna. The artist draws the pattern on your arm, your hands and even your fingers with washable paint. The pattern lasts for several weeks. This pattern is nice but then I have to wear long sleeves to cover it when I go to work...... Posted by Hello

Little India

Here I am in Little India. The first thing that came to me was the music. Though I don't know what the singer was singing, it brought the mood. I wandered there for 2 hours. Bought sth and tried the little Indian cake. Even sweet teeth like me think that it's a bit too sweet...... Posted by Hello

MRT design

I really enjoyed a great night out with my friend in Day 2. I then got back to myself on Day 3. I took the MRT to Little India. I like the design of the handrails. Can you see the one with 3 bars? Brilliant design huh! One handrail serves many. Clever. Posted by Hello

Sleepless in Singapore and Hong Kong

That's exactly the same bar you can find in HK too. Is it the same problem people suffer in these two places??? Posted by Hello

Singapore shop No. 4

Kaya is sth you put on the bread like butter and jam. The kaya toast is wonderful! You put some butter and kaya on the toast and eat it. I can't believe how delicious it is! It was the only shop I visited twice in Singapore. I went back to the hotel and called my friend. We went out and enjoyed a wonderful night! Durian cafe, East coast food stalls and the sea, not to mention the big big big starry sky. Thanks my dear good friend. Posted by Hello

If you think the cathedral looks wonderful, wait till you look at the doom, the colorful stained glasses, the chandeliers, the piles and the arches.  Posted by Hello

Beautiful cathedral

Then I went to another place called Chijmes. It was a cathedral. Now it became a chic dining place. I could see there's a Spain Tapas restaurant. The other restaurants looked good too. Posted by Hello

One of the corridors on the ground floor. Posted by Hello

Nice

Isn't it wonderful? You can see, hear and touch the history by yourself. You can't feel the aura by watching museum guide books. Posted by Hello

The only museum I visited in Singapore

I went to the Raffles museum. I like history. It tells you how people lived in the old time. Posted by Hello

Raffles hotel

Raffles Hotel is one of the places I put 'a must' in the plan. It reminds me of my place. It's so colonial and elegant. You may think that it's a bit fake but I always like this old style. Posted by Hello

I finally realized and admitted that I am from stone age......

I wondered whether I am from stone age after the MRT journey. Singapore MRT system is quite similar to HKs actually. I don't know why I couldn't reach Kranji! I reached Boon Lay and should switch to another line. When I switched, I actually went back to Clementi! Since the Sungei Buloh closes at 7 and it was 5 already, I gave up and went back to town. I wasn't disappointed at all as it's one of the advantages of being a free walker--- you walk freely and you can feel free to lose your way too! :P Posted by Hello

I got my luggage back!

I went back to the hotel in the afternoon and took a break. The luggage was there!!! Credit for Singapore coz if it happened in HK, I guess it would be quite unlikely to get it back. However, the hotel staff gave me neither a notice nor message of the arrival. So I went to the Bugis and Mustafa to get all my staff again! After the unpacking, I went out to explore this country again! I wanted to go to the Sungei Buloh. This is the view from one of the stations, I forgot it's Boon Lay or Clementi. I like the bus station down there. Posted by Hello

Singapore shop No. 3

I went to a shop in Chinatown to buy my mom some 'Chinese Dior' in Day 2. It sells bamboo sleeping mats actually but it's more famous for its medicated oil. Australia has its famous wheat-ship farming, Singapore has its famous medicine-mat trading! Good Good! Posted by Hello

Elegant neighbourhood

It's just one of the streets in one of the neighbourhood. Love the style actually. Peaceful and quiet. Posted by Hello

Singapore shop No. 2

I guess there's sth universal about the way Chinese business. (Have a look of my Taiwan's trip earlier and you will know). Posted by Hello

Singapore shop No. 1

Singapore's shop. I guess the business will not be too bad. You can tell how popular it is even when the shop is close. Posted by Hello

One of the moments I had to use my AQ

My luggage was gone when I reached the belt! I stayed in the airport area longer than usual as I knew there would be a movie premiere show of 'The Terminal'. Since you seldom have the chance to a. travel, b. go to premiere, c. in the airport, sure you don't wanna miss the chance right? When I saw nothing on or by the belt, my heart sank. This is my first time to travel by myself and for myself, I guess God really wanna test my AQ. The first glimpse of Singapore life is its shopping convenience. I got my daily necessities in Bugis in less than an hour. Then head back to the hotel. Posted by Hello

Hello, Singapore!

I went to Singapore from 28th to 31st! It has been my no. X visit. Accidents happen when I travel. Of course Singapore one is not exempted......Pay attention to the time now...... Posted by Hello
